L'alimentation vivante (que l'on peut appeler aussi crudivorisme, au vegan rawfoods) est une pratique alimentaire qui favorise la consommation de nourriture crue (non cuite), non ou peu raffinée, et souvent d'origine biologique, comme principale source d'alimentation. En Amérique, ce genre de mode l'alimentation est devenu très populaire, au point ou il y a de plus en plus de médecins qui recommendent ce régime alimentataire, ainsi que beaucoup de centres de soin et restaurants (presque dans toutes les grandes villes des Etats Unis, on trouve des "rawfood" restaurants, en San Francisco, il y en a 9, à Los Angeles, 7, à Seattle 3, à Bellingham 2 etc). Par exemple, on a deux amis medecin-cancérologues d'Arizona qui prescrivent systèmatiquement du "vegan rawfoods" pour leurs patients. En France, il y a une tendance a considérer presque tout ce qui est fondé par l'innovation scientifique et la pratique ancestrale en général et le "vegan rawfoods" en particulier comme étant un produit d'une secte, d'un complot "anti-système" ou d'une preuve de dysfonctionnement cérébral grave.

On peut séparer les crudi-végétariens ou crudi-végétaliens qui sont principalement granivores, fructivores, etc... des crudivores carnivores, qui font de la viande une part plus ou moins grande de leur régime. Il y a aussi certains qui ne font subir aucune transformation à la nourriture (voir l'instinctonutrition) quand d'autres s'attachent à préparer des plats crus très élaborés dans ce qui est parfois appelé la « crusine ».

Entre autres mécanismes, ce mode d'alimentation produit ses effets thérapeutiques graçe à l’action des enzymes vivantes, des vitamines et sels minéraux qui sont maintenu dans un état cru et aussi naturel que possible. Ce qui contribut à mieux « détoxiquer » l'organisme, à mieux nettoyer l’organisme en favorisant l’élimination des toxines.

Intégrer des aliments crus dans son alimentation demande d'y aller progressivement, car certaines personnes qui consomment des aliments crus (surtout des fruits et des légumes) sont incommodées par des ballonnements, des selles molles, ou des colites.

Dans cette perspective, les aliments lactofermentés (choucroute, carottes, betterave, etc.) permettent une transition entre le cuit et le cru (i.e. la lactofermentation détruit certaines substances indésirables).

A terme, nous allons réssusciter notre bac à spiruline, et ce, d'autant qu' une étude réalisée par l'IRD pour le Ministère de l'Agriculture a confirmé que la spiruline de par sa forte richesse naturelle en protéines, fer et vitamine B12, acides acides gras essentiels doit être considérée comme un aliment complet.

En outre, tous les jours, nous allons dans la forêt cueillir des plantes sauvages (telles l'hoblon sauvage, la luzerne - riche en vitamine B 12, le plantain, la cibolette sauvage, l'ortie, la carotte sauvage etc, ) et nous en extrayons des jus d'herbe d'une haute énergie. Live foods are plant-foods that have not been heated, cooked, processed, or refined in any way. Live foods (or raw foods) include uncooked, organic vegetables and fruits, raw nuts and seeds, and sprouted grains and seeds of all kinds (alfalfa, sunflower, lentil, etc). These foods are loaded with nutrients and healing properties and should ideally comprise about 70-80% of your diive, raw foods have a high degree of life force or energy . Life force, also known as prana (in India ), or chi (in China ), is the most basic and primary nutrient on which our bodies thrive. The substances that increase our life force energy, include oxygen, sunlight, and live foods. You can actually see the life force energy of a particular food through a technology called Kirlian Photography. You can see from the pictures that a fresh, raw food has a large life force field, yet when cooked, the life force field is diminished. It is also interesting to note that people who have degenerative health conditions have been shown, through this same method, to have small life force fields, and those who are healthy have much larger life force fields. Different cooking methods affect the life force field of foods dramatically differently. Fried foods, processed and sugar-laden foods, and red meat, for instance have little to no life force energy. Lightly steamed vegetables, legumes, or grains have a far greater vitality than deep fried foods or cooked meat.


Live foods, including uncooked, organic vegetables and fruits, and raw or sprouted seeds, nuts, grains, and grasses, have the highest life force energy of any foods. Sprouted foods are particularly powerful, and are referred to as biogenic foods. They contain the secret of life itself, the germ, which contains the reproductive power of the plant. When seeds, nuts, and grains are sprouted, many of the nutrients are increased and they become easier to digest. When nuts and seeds are soaked and sprouted, digestive enzyme inhibitors contained in the nuts and seeds are destroyed, and the carbohydrates, fats and proteins become predigested into simple carbohydrates, free fatty acids, and free amino acids, allowing the body to absorb them more readily.

"BEFORE I realized the actual importance of raw vegetable food, my attitude was exactly the same as that of other doctors -- to treat the symptoms of the disease without thinking of preventing it. It ought to be the duty of the medical profession in future to find means of preventing to a much higher degree than now, instead of having to cure later on. That I, as a doctor, went in for exclusively raw vegetable food is due to the fact that I became ill, even seriously ill, myself. I developed cancer of the breast. The disease had, of course, been preceded by wrong nourishment and wrong habits in the course of my twelve years of hospital training, when I suffered from sluggish digestion and catarrh of the stomach all the time, disorders which are still of quite common occurrence among hospital staff members. Since that time, no change of the hospital diet has taken place in Denmark in this very important domain. On one occasion I was in a dying condition because of a bleeding gastric ulcer. This made me abandon meat and fish, and I became a vegetarian. Later, I took to eating a good deal of raw vegetable food. In this manner my digestion became regulated, and I felt better, though not completely well. In the winter of 1940 to 1941, I was exceptionally tired and dull, but I was unable to ascertain any specific disease. At that time I did not understand what was wrong with me, but in the course of the Spring I discovered a small node in my right breast.
Tired and dull as I was, I did not pay any attention to it until, five weeks later, I discovered that the node was the size of a hen’s egg. It had grown into the skin, a thing only cancer does. As a doctor, I had seen enough to be unwilling to submit to the treatment of cancer generally employed. I consulted my good friend, Dr. M. Hindhede, who dissuaded a trial microscopy. It would open up the blood streams and the cancer would spread; so I gave it up. And then I felt it as quite a natural thing that I would have to carry through a one hundred per cent raw vegetable diet.
I went in search of nature and lived for a time on a small island in the Kattegat, took sun-baths from four to five hours daily, slept in a tent, bathed several times a day, and lived exclusively on a raw vegetable diet. Later I introduced this habit of life at the sanatorium "Humlegarden."
